The Tomato grows on a vine that stays in its bed after you pick it and fruits again about every 2 days, 2 to 4 at a time. It does not grow wild anywhere: its seeds come only from traders in the Tundra.

In-game description
A ripe red tomato. It smells green at the stem.SHOWN ON ITS CARD IN YOUR PACK
Growing
- Sow it with the Hoe in a tilled bed and keep the bed watered. It takes about 6.5 days to its first harvest in clear weather, then fruits again about every 2 days.
- It likes the sun: fastest in clear sunshine, slower under cloud or a roof, and slow at night.
Harvest
Reap it with the Sickle. A harvest gives 2 to 4 Tomato and 0 to 2 seeds back (1 more seed at Heirloom), and releases 2 Water, 1 Fire spirits at Plain grade (more at finer grades: see Crop Grades). The plant stays in its bed and fruits again. If a ripe fruit is left more than 3 days, only the fruit rots and the plant starts again.
Where to get seeds
Traders in the Tundra only. See Seeds.
Notes
- Tomatoes are not hardy: snow stops them and frost hurts them in open beds, so in the Tundra grow them under a roof or with Fire in their soil.
- A picking may give no seeds back (0 to 2).
- They are good to eat raw.
