In-game description

A flint crescent on a short grip. click or F sweeps three beds: whatever is ripe comes up, and its spirits with it. It cuts grass too.SHOWN ON ITS CARD

Using it

  • Reap: aim at a ripe crop and press click or F. The produce pops out of each bed and lies there until you walk close; seeds go straight into your seed pouch; the crop's spirits rise out of the soil. Plants that fruit again keep growing and fruit again.
  • Clear: dead crops in the sweep are cleared.
  • Pull up: if nothing in the sweep is ripe, the sickle pulls up the crop you aim at while it is still growing from seed, and gives its seed back.
  • Cut grass: grass in the sweep is cut and drops Grass or Dry Grass. Each tuft of green grass has a 30% chance to drop a Grain seed.
  • One bed: right-click or R switches between the whole patch and just the bed you aim at.

  • AREA: how many beds it sweeps, across your aim, then along it. A Farmer's Raincoat adds a ring of beds all round.
  • YIELD: the chance of one more of what comes up (past 100%, one more for sure, and a chance of another).
  • BUMPER: the chance a ripe crop comes up a bumper crop: twice as many plus 1, a grade finer and twice the spirits.
  • FINER: the chance what comes up is a grade finer.
  • REACH: how many beds away you can aim it.

Spirits in the sickle

Spirited at the Spiriting Table, the sickle's spirits are about the harvest.

  • Fire: a grade finer (1 in 6, 1 in 4, 1 in 3, or always with Midsummer Edge), bumper crops (1 in 8, or 1 in 4), more spirits from each crop (twice or three times over), more grain seeds from grass, faster sweeps.
  • Water: reaping heals you (1% up to 8% of your health a crop), what comes up flies straight into your pack (Gatherer), crops are sown again at once from your seeds (1 in 2, 3 in 4, or every one with Endless Harvest), more seeds back, Water spirits from each crop.
  • Earth: more of each crop (a chance of one more, up to two more every time with Horn of Plenty), more seeds back, bumper crops (1 in 10 up to 1 in 3), 2% of crops turn up a Spirit Gem (Mother Earth), Earth spirits from each crop.
  • Wind: a wider and deeper sweep (up to two beds wider each side and two rows deeper), longer reach (up to 3 beds), faster sweeps (up to twice as fast), what comes up flies to you, more seeds back, more grain seeds from grass.
