The Watering Can waters your garden beds. Dip it at any water to fill it, then click or F pours over the bed you aim at (and the rest of its patch). A crop only grows while its bed is wet. It comes in three metals: Tin, Copper and Galvanised (the stone, bronze and steel tiers). A finer can holds more and waters more beds with each pour.
In-game description
Painted tin staves and a long spout. click or F waters the bed you aim at. Dip it at any water to fill it.SHOWN ON ITS CARD
Using it
- Fill: aim at any water and press click or F. The can's mouth shows how full it is.
- Water: aim at a bed and press click or F. One pour soaks every bed in the patch, and uses 1 pour of water.
- One bed: right-click or R switches between the whole patch and just the bed you aim at.
A soaked bed in the open stays wet for about 1.2 to 1.6 days in clear weather, and about 2 days under a roof. Rain waters open beds for you. See Farming.

- KEEPS: how much longer beds it waters hold their water (from spirits).
- REACH: how many beds away you can aim it.
Spirits in the can
Spirited at the Spiriting Table, the can's spirits are about water and growth. A bed watered by a spirited can keeps a boon for 1 day.
- Fire: beds grow faster for a day (10% up to twice as fast), beds stay warm so frost can't touch them, bumper crops (1 in 10 up to 1 in 4), each pour grows what it falls on a little at once, faster pouring, Fire spirits from each pour.
- Water: holds more water (25% more up to twice as much), or never runs dry (Ocean Can), some pours cost nothing, it fills itself out in the rain (Rain Catcher), beds stay wet longer, crops get back health, each pour heals you 2% of your health (Lifespring), Water spirits from each pour.
- Earth: finer crops, beds fed as Bone Meal feeds them (1 day up to a week), bumper crops (1 in 8, or 1 in 5), watering bare ground may turn up a seed, Earth spirits from each pour.
- Wind: a wider and deeper patch (up to two beds wider each side and two rows deeper), longer reach (up to 3 beds), faster pouring (up to twice as fast), some pours cost nothing, beds grow faster.
