In-game description

An ear of corn in its husk, the silk still on it.SHOWN ON ITS CARD IN YOUR PACK

Growing

  • Sow it with the Hoe in a tilled bed and keep the bed watered. It takes about 5.5 days to its first harvest in clear weather.
  • It likes the sun: fastest in clear sunshine, slower under cloud or a roof, and slow at night.

Harvest

Reap it with the Sickle. A harvest gives 2 to 3 Corn and 1 to 2 seeds back (1 more seed at Heirloom), and releases 2 Wind, 1 Earth spirits at Plain grade (more at finer grades: see Crop Grades). Left in the ground more than 3 days after it ripens, it rots.

Where to get seeds

Wild corn in the Desert (45%, 1 or 2 seeds), and traders in the Desert. See Seeds.

Notes

  • Corn is a tall crop: a storm bends it in an open bed, costing 10% of its health, unless Fire at RICH or DEEP is in its soil.
  • Corn is not hardy: snow stops it and frost hurts it in open beds.
  • It is good to eat raw.
