Keepsakes

GUIDEVILLAGES

Keepsakes are lasting rewards from Village Quests. Almost every villager's request (the quests asked in person, once per world) gives one, and so does one notice, The Golden Songbird. A keepsake isn't carried in your pack and can't be lost or sold: once you have it, it works for you for good. There are 35 in all, 7 from each land.

How keepsakes work

  • You get a keepsake when you hand in the quest that gives it. The quest's window says which keepsake it gives and what it does.
  • You don't equip them. All of them work at once, all the time.
  • The keepsakes you own are listed on the KEEPSAKES card in the QUESTS tab of your stats window (K).
  • The Golden Songbird is a notice and can be done again, but it gives the Golden Feather only the first time.
  • Keepsakes, like village quests, only work in the desktop and Android apps.

Keepsakes that pay on a timer

Three keepsakes give you spirits on a timer. They release the spirits beside you, wherever you are in the world:

KeepsakeGivesWhen
Star in a Jar1 Fire, 1 Water, 1 Earth and 1 Wind spiritEach new day
Old Oak Sapling3 Earth spiritsEach new day
Sun-Catcher Prism1 Fire and 1 Wind spiritEach day at noon
  • The daily gifts are not given while you are in a dungeon: they wait and come when you are back outside. If you have been away for several days, you get up to 3 days' worth at once.
  • The Prism's gift comes at noon (from noon until a little after). If you spend noon in a dungeon, you get it when you come out, as long as it is still the same day.

Tips

  • Requests need WELCOME Standing in the village, so reach it early in each land you visit.
  • The three light keepsakes (Aurora Lantern, Oath-Fire Ember, Miner's Lamp) only work while you hold a light. The Aurora Lantern adds to either of the other two.
  • For fishing, the Mirage Lure, Grandfather's Float, Grandfather's Reel and Moonglass Float together make every catch easier. See Fishing and Legendary Fish.
In online play, each player keeps their own keepsakes, and each one works in its owner's game. Everyone who helped with a request gets its keepsake when it is handed in.
