Growing
- Sow it with the Hoe in a tilled bed and keep the bed watered. It takes about 7 days to its first harvest in clear weather, then fruits again about every 2 days.
- It likes the sun: fastest in clear sunshine, slower under cloud or a roof, and slow at night.
Harvest
Reap it with the Sickle. A harvest gives 3 to 5 Emberberries and 0 to 1 seed back (1 more seed at Heirloom), and releases 2 Fire, 1 Earth spirits at Plain grade (more at finer grades: see Crop Grades). The plant stays in its bed and fruits again. If a ripe fruit is left more than 3 days, only the fruit rots and the plant starts again.
Where to get seeds
Berry bushes and brambles you cut down (45%, 1 or 2 seeds), and traders in the Woods and the Desert. See Seeds.
Notes
- It takes about 7 days to its first picking (the bush grows first, then fruits), then fruits about every 2 days.
- A picking gives 0 or 1 seed back, so a bush you keep is worth more than seeds.
- Emberberries are not hardy: snow stops them and frost hurts them in open beds.
