Carpets

GUIDEBUILDING

Carpets are woven floor pieces on the build ring's INDOORS page. There are three designs, each in eight colours. Lay them on the ground or over a floor you have built, even under furniture. Carpets of the same design and colour side by side join into one rug with a border round the whole.

Laying carpets

  • A carpet fills one tile. Click and drag to lay a row.
  • Lay it on the ground, or over a floor you have built. The floor stays under it.
  • It slides under whatever already stands on the floor (a bed, a table, a station, a chest, decor). That piece stays where it is and is drawn on top.
  • Tiles of the same design and colour next to each other join into one rug, with one border round the outside. Mix designs or colours to make separate rugs.

Taking carpets up

DISMANTLE on a carpet gives back the carpet's cost and leaves the floor under it as it was. MOVE picks a carpet up the same way.

When a piece of furniture stands on a carpet, DISMANTLE and MOVE aim at the furniture first. Press R to switch the outline to the carpet underneath (the bar shows its name and what you will get back), and again to switch back. Taking the carpet up leaves the furniture standing on the floor. Pointing at another tile resets the choice.

Carpets and comfort

A carpet in a cozy room adds to its comfort. All carpets count as one kind of thing, however many designs you lay. See Comfort.
