Boss Trophies

GUIDEBOSSES

Every lair boss leaves a trophy of its own each time you beat it: 2 of its trophy, along with 1 Endurium. Trophies have three uses: you can hang one on your wall on a Boss Trophy plaque, grind it into spirits, or spend 3 at the Augmentation Table to bind a boss's echo to another piece of gear.

The only way to get a trophy is to beat its boss. Lairs come back after they have been sealed for a few days (see Lairs), so you can fight a boss again for more.

Trophies are not big bones. No recipe that asks for a long bone or any big bone will use up a trophy by accident.

The Boss Trophy plaque

The Boss Trophy is a building piece that hangs on a wall. It shows the head of a lair boss you have beaten, mounted on a round slab of log with a gem in the colour of its land's Jewel. Parts of some heads glow softly, such as Giggos's gold eyes and the Hollow Stag's fiery eyes.

Making one

  1. Open the building ring (B) and find the Boss Trophy.
  2. Choose which boss on its page. A boss whose trophy you don't have is greyed out and locked, and the page says which trophy you need.
  3. Hang it on a wall.

If you take a plaque down, you get back what it cost, trophy included.

Reading it

Press E at a hung plaque to read its record:

  • the day you first beat that boss;
  • your fastest fight against it;
  • whether you beat it in a Fatal or Abyssal lair (the hardest one you beat it in);
  • in online play, who hung the plaque.

The record is taken when the plaque is hung. To show a faster time or a harder lair, take the plaque down and hang it again.

Grinding a trophy

At The Grinder, a trophy grinds into 17 spirits of its kind, multiplied by the Grinder's share and rounded. The Grinder lists trophies under CREATURE PARTS, marked TROPHY.

Binding an echo

At the Augmentation Table's BIND THE ECHO page, 3 of a boss's trophy (and 5 of each spirit) move that boss's Forged mark from one piece of gear to another. See Bind the Echo.

Tips

  • Keep at least 3 of each trophy if you plan to move a Forged mark later.
  • One plaque of each boss makes a fine record of your adventure. Its glow makes a room feel lived in.
In online play, every player in the fight gets their own trophies from the boss. A plaque shows who hung it.
