The Packer's Charm is a tiny stitched satchel on a cord. It makes room on you: it always gives more pockets in your pack, and may also make your stacks bigger or pull things lying about towards you.
In-game description
A tiny stitched satchel on a cord, heavier than it looks. It makes room on you.SHOWN ON ITS CARD
Effects
It rolls its effects from the list below when it is made or found, with no effect twice. How many it gets depends on its metal (Bone: 1 · Bronze: 1 or 2 · Iron: 2, sometimes 1 · Steel: 2 or 3 · Endurium: 3, sometimes 2). Deep Pockets is always one of them. Effects marked "rarer" come up less often than the rest.
| Effect | What it does | Bone · Bronze · Iron · Steel · Endurium |
|---|---|---|
| Deep Pockets (always) | More pockets in your pack | +3 · +4 · +6 · +8 · +10 |
| Packed Tight | Your stacks hold more | 10-20% · 18-32% · 26-44% · 34-56% · 42-68% |
| Long Arms | Things lying about come to you from further off | 30-50% · 45-75% · 60-100% · 75-125% · 90-150% |
It also rolls 0 to 5 stat traits, each a few percent on one stat (+1% to +3% at Bone, up to +7% to +14% at Endurium). See Charms.
Making it
Tied at the Charm Table, on the CHARMS page. Its own part is 2 Hide (Bone) or 2 Leather (Bronze up); the metal adds a cord and ingots, and it takes a few spirits.
| Metal | Cost |
|---|---|
| Bone | 3 Any Grass, 2 Hide, 1 Water Spirit, 1 Earth Spirit |
| Bronze | 2 Any Grass, 2 Bronze Ingot, 2 Leather, 1 Water Spirit, 2 Earth Spirits |
| Iron | 2 Any Grass, 2 Iron Ingot, 2 Leather, 1 Fire Spirit, 1 Water Spirit, 3 Earth Spirits |
| Steel | 2 Any Grass, 2 Steel Ingot, 2 Leather, 1 Fire Spirit, 1 Water Spirit, 3 Earth Spirits, 1 Wind Spirit |
| Endurium | 2 Any Grass, 1 Iron Ingot, 1 Endurium Ingot, 2 Leather, 1 Fire Spirit, 1 Water Spirit, 5 Earth Spirits, 1 Wind Spirit |
Charms also drop from some night creatures, turn up in chests and come up on a fishing line.
Tips
- Even a Bone one gives 3 more pockets: a good first charm.
- If you take it off, whatever no longer fits is set down at your feet; nothing is lost.
- You can wear two charms. Their numbers add together; an effect that is only on or off does nothing more for being on both.
